For The Church
|
I believe one of the most important things for us as believers is to keep the main things, the main things. It is so easy and equally unproductive for us to be divided on specific methodology. Below I've listed some of the characteristics that I consider to be essential for Christians in the 21st Century. In the words of Charles Wesley, "Unity in the essentials, liberty in the non-essentials, charity in all." If you believe that Christ is the Son of God, died for your sins, and rose on the third day you are a brother or a sister to me. Let us unify as the Body of Christ to advance the Kingdom of Heaven on the earth! May God richly bless you as you live fully for Him!

Prayer |
I believe that prayer is the genesis of the Kingdom of Heaven being released in the earth. As I have often heard it said, "Little prayer, little power. Much prayer, much power." A very simple and practical way to bring more of God into the world around you is to pray more and start prayer meetings. I am convinced that prayer meetings change things. Plus they enlarge our heart for those around us. They are simple, but when done regularly and faithfully, they change the world. Try to meet at a regular time every week to pray for the hurting world around you, wherever you are. Click on the link to see a short clip on the power of prayer. Prayer

Evangelism |
"How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?" The very simple truth is that we need to share our faith in order for others to know of the hope they have in Christ. The Lord gave me a picture in my mind a while ago where I saw a group of scientists meeting every week on Sunday mornings to celebrate their discovery of a cure for cancer. They didn't give the treatment away, they only celebrated that they themselves had found it. The Lord showed me how this is much of the church at large today. The simple truth is that we need to share the message of the love of God and Jesus Christ. Email me for some great resources to help encourage you with the work of evangelism. Discipleship |
Discipleship is the way of the Kingdom. If we believe that Christ was the Son of God, we have to believe that His way of doing things is the very best. And how did He choose to bring the Kingdom of Heaven to earth? Through discipleship. He took some very average guys, taught them, and sent them out to change the world. This command has not changed for us today and is still the most effective way to spread the Kingdom on the earth. I would like to encourage us all to make sure we are always pouring into the lives of others. Click on the following link for a short video and encouraging word from Francis Chan on this subject. Radical Faith |
If God is for you, who can be against you!? If God has given you a dream in your heart that would help others and bring glory to Him, I say: GO FOR IT. Seriously. Trust Him. Make mistakes. It's alright to get out of the boat and do the impossible. Trust God and believe He is the God of miracles! Love |
Love is the greatest of all commands. If we do anything without love, we are nothing more than a clanging cymbal. I just want to encourage you right now to love well. It is the very essence and foundation of the Kingdom of God. Love the Body of Christ, love your neighbor, love your enemies. Please, do not forget the most important component of the Kingdom: Love. Obedience |
As the famous hymn says, "Trust and obey, for there's no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey." In John 14:15 Jesus says, "You love me if you keep my commandments." Jesus could not be more plain when He commands His church to obey His teaching. I believe a thousand problems in the world will be solved if the Church will simply obey the words that Jesus taught. Let's get back to the red letters and the rest of the Word of God and live them out with all our hearts!
